Uaymitun 2017-Blog Post #8 “The BucketList!”

Welcome to our Uaymitun 2017 Blog!

This post covers more bucketlist activities for Sharon and Dave & Deb!

None of them had been to a cenote yet, so one day off we went to San Ignacio Cenote in Chochola, south of Merida.

Picture provided by San Ignacio Cenote!
Elaine and Sharon heading down the stairs to the cenote…
… and turning the corner to the flat spot to leave your towels!
Enjoying the refreshing…
… and crystal clear…
… waters of the cenote!
There’s a nice number of small palapas to enjoy some refreshments!
Having a light lunch afterwards; sopa de lima and panuchos!
Beyond the pool, they are building a number of rental casitas!

A good time was had by all and another item crossed off their bucketlist!

That evening, we enjoyed another great sunset on the beach!

Anticipating the sunset with a refreshing beverage!
And this sunset…
… didn’t disappoint!
Incredible skies!

The next morning, we took Sharon to the airport!

Over 10 years ago, Dave came to Mexico at the request of a good friend who had lived in Sarnia for a few years before returning to Mexico. Raul was a pitcher for the Yucatan Leones baseball team, so Dave traveled with the team for several weeks and made some great friends.

One of his bucketlist items was to reconnect… and we were able to contact and meet with Willy Romero, who was a player back then, but is now the Manager of the Leones!

That week, all the pitchers were there for spring training and tryouts.

Another bucketlist item crossed off!

Oh, BTW… a Herbie the Love Bug sighting in downtown Progreso!

Well, that’s it for this post!  Our trip to Izamal is next!  I promise!

Cheers from Uaymitun, MX!
